UNITED STATES of America's
Miss NEW JERSEY
2025
NAOMIE CHARLES
Naomie Charles is a proud first-generation Haitian-American, an avid bookworm, and one of the most cheerful people you’ll ever meet. She is currently studying Business Administration at Middlesex County College and plans to transfer to Rutgers University to focus on Business Law. One of her proudest achievements is being the founding member of the Student Government Association in high school. Today, she continues to inspire others by serving as an advisor to students who choose to lead their peers in the student body. When she’s not actively serving her community, you can find her dancing with joy to any Beyoncé song. And when she wants to relax, she’s tucked away in a cozy corner, lost in a book, whisked away to a land of happy endings.
When Naomie was born, she developed a vascular birthmark known as a hemangioma on her left ear and cheek. Her parents and doctors were initially only given basic information about the condition. In search of more answers, her family traveled up and down the East Coast for guidance. They eventually found peace when they learned that the hemangioma was a benign tumor that would fade as Naomie grew older. However, growing up with such a noticeable birthmark was challenging, and she often found herself labeled as "the girl with the weird birthmark." It was through this experience that Naomie realized she had the power to define how she would be remembered. This led her to adopt the motto that has since become her platform: “Live a Legacy.”
“Live a Legacy” is centered on the belief that the actions you take today define the legacy you leave behind. Naomie encourages people not to wait for one grand moment in life to define them, but to be present and intentional in every opportunity. She advocates for showing up as the best version of yourself in every moment, and for being kinder and more mindful in each interaction. As the United States of America’s Miss New Jersey 2025, Naomie is committed to empowering young women to be authentic and to strive to reach their full potential. She aims to inspire others not to let anyone or anything hold them back from their purpose and to remind everyone that they are worthy of all good things.
